PHOTOGRAPHY

Robert Monkton Light served as assistant and studio manager under two of the great names in photography in the 20th century: Pete Turner (peteturner.com) and Art Kane (artkane.com), both with studios in the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City. From these two masters, Light acquired a well-rounded approach to creating powerful, effective images capable of communicating a client’s message at a glance.

Under these two very different world-class professionals, Light had the opportunity to work with the top tier of New York City’s sophisticated creative community and to develop his own creative, technical, and business skills. This leading edge environment enabled him to sense how communications technology would evolve and to become an early predictor of the all-important transition to electronic and digital media. Although Light has gone on to develop skills in these new digital and interactive forms of electronic communication, he continues to accept professional assignments in the format of his first love, still photography.
